Legislative Committee

Members of the MACo Legislative Committee include representatives from Maryland's 23 counties and Baltimore City. The Committee meets regularly on Wednesdays at the MACo office during the General Assembly Session. During the Interim, the Committee meets quarterly to develop legislative priorities for the coming year.

Committee Meetings are held based on need; therefore, some may be cancelled. In the event of inclement weather, please see the HOME PAGE of this website or call the office before traveling to Annapolis.

Be advised that downtown Annapolis parking is scarce during the U.S. Naval Academy Commissioning Week in May, the first and second weeks in October (U.S. Power Boat and Sailboat Shows) and during the General Assembly - mid-January through mid-April.

COMMITTEES
The MACo Legislative Committee members meet quarterly during the Interim and regularly on Wednesdays during the General Assembly Session.

The Tax Subcommittee reviews legislation regarding those issues and makes recommendations to the Legislative Committee during Session.

The Education Subcommittee makes recommendations to the Legislative Committee on education issues during Session.

The Legislative Planning Committee is reviewing potential 2008 MACo Legislative Initiatives now.
