Overview
MACo provides a single voice for county government issues-advocating county positions before the Governor, the General Assembly, executive branch officials, and federal decision-makers. Each subdivision has representation on a Legislative Committee that determines MACo positions on legislative issues. The Committee meets weekly during the General Assembly Session to review legislation impacting county government. During the interim, the Committee plans MACo's legislative initiatives for the upcoming Session. The Committee and MACo staff study and track all proposed legislation affecting county government.
