Several annual conferences and events offering continuing education for elected and appointed county officials are held yearly. Many sessions qualify for credit with the
Academy for Excellence in Local Governance
is held in January and every four years offers a half-day training for newly elected officials. The
and Trade Show is held mid-August in Ocean City. Both events focus on education, but also offer briefings by state departments and agencies and networking opportunities. The governor addresses both conferences.
Administrators and Attorneys Fall Conferences
provide a forum for discussion of legal and management issues for county administrators and attorneys.
A smaller, one-day
event is held in the spring. The event focuses on specific topics to allow for more in-depth exploration of important issues.
