Overview
The mission of the Large County Coalition is to promote collegiality and cooperation, share information, and develop strategic alliances among Maryland counties with populations greater than 200,000 - Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George's. The Coalition works to ensure that representation in government is equal for all Marylanders, no matter where they reside. The Coalition's members believe that the success of all counties is essential to Maryland’s future. At the same time, it must be acknowledged that the Coalition’s eight-member counties comprise nearly four-fifths of the state's total population. Resources for education, transportation, economic development, and public safety should be allocated according to principles of equity and fairness.
